Earlier this fall, I wrote a post regarding hanging artwork and photos of family and friends. I just went back and reread my blog - I'll be truthful, it made me cry! I love my family and friends and I miss you all terribly. Here is the first blog post from our archive, October 14:

I had not taken the final photos of the hallway because it was not truly finished - until this Christmas. We were missing only one photo - an important photo. A photo of my Grandmother, Anna Bondie. She is a very important women to us both. She was a very strong women! She lived in pain with rheumatoid arthritis most of her life- I never remember her not in pain. She had her faults, but she was the matriarch of our family.
I tried to get a copy made of the only portrait (too big to fit in the collage frame) that we had of her so it would fit in the collage frame but Walmart had a fit...the original was a professionally taken photo and they would not let me copy it - even if was over 40yrs old. The Photography company is no longer in business, but that did not make a difference to Walmart. However, even if I could have it copied, it needed to be cropped and cleaned up because there were shadows over her eyes in the original photos (the portrait photographer was not the greatest).
This Christmas, our son-in-law, Mitch, saved the day for us. He not only cleaned up the photo but cropped and copied it for me as well. Now, finally our family and friends hallway is finally complete...as it can be without some of our friend's pictures - the friends that don't like their photo being taken. Marvin - I asked Keva to take a photo of you the next time she sees you.

The hallway is pretty complete - for now. We will add to it as we need to with refreshed photos, new photos of friends, and as the grand kids grow. Each day, I enjoy revisiting them as I move throughout the upstairs. Thanks for sharing your life and memories with us!

ReplyDeleteMy life wouldn't be what it is today if it were not for you and Mark!!!
ReplyDeleteLove you both!
The same goes for us as well- our lives would not be the same without you in it. What would I have done at LAFB if you had not been there for me during those awful 6 months? With no family to help during those dark days and times, you became my family then - now that you and Pete are married, it's just official
